I was in the middle of sending a query out this morning when my doorbell rang. I ran from my office and through the house when I spotted The Man in Brown shuffling down my driveway through 6 inches of fresh powder. (man, we're getting pounded this year!!)

So, I scooped my box out of the snow drift and here's what was inside:

No, that's not me on the cover, Dahlink! It's my second book with Enslow Publisher's and my first book in their Careers in Film and Television series. It'll be officially released May 1st. Yay! I totally love the look and feel of the hardcover. Enslow did a fantastic job matching photos with my text!! Here's a sneak peek of a spread in the section where I profiled Leonardo DiCaprio. Lucky me!

I'm so excited it's here!! It's got me hankering to do another NF book or two or three.

ohhhhh awesome! What's the official release date? I hope we can get our hands on it in time for A to use it for her non-fiction book report. She'll love this one!

Oh, I should ammend my post to include the release date! Doh! :-) It's available May 1st. Ask your library and school to carry it and let know if A does a report. That would be SO cool!

Thanks, Maggie!!

Have I told you how stunning your art is? Wow! Can't wait to read your YA! (and then give it to my daughter!)

I must show my daughter your horses. Her first published work was a horse. The school calendar. :) She's really good at manga, too! I can't draw a straight line. Ha.

You're an ABLAer,too, aren't you?

I am! Laura's my new agent and I'm still delirious over it.

And thanks -- you can tell your daughter that I've been horse crazy and doodling them since I was just a little maggot. Now look at me -- it's how I make my living.

I just love the pretty typesetting in your book. Wow, I am such a geek. ;)

I hear ya! I signed with CW in June and am still delirious, too.

Nothing geeky about loving the typeset! It's just one of the things I am very pleased with. :-) Yay, Enslow!

Maggie, one more thing...

Your work reminds me a lot of Bev Doolittle's. Are you familiar with her? I have her book VISIONS with such beautiful horses, Indians and scenery.

I've been told that before! I have seen her stuff -- quite enough to be completely flattered by the comparison. *faints*

Bev'd be flattered by the comparison, too, Maggie!

I can say I knew you "when" because with your art AND writing talent, you've got it going on! (do people still say that? LOL)

Off to the DVR :-)

Thanks, Heidi!

It's available at the big chain online sources. BN and Amazon and also through Enslow direct. Otherwise, ask your school, library and theather group (wink!) to order it. I *think* it's available for pre-order now.

Since these books are sold primarily to the school and library markets, they are bound hardcovers. That means they're higher priced than trade.

Ooooh! I do hope theater groups pick it up! I interviewed Micheal Morgan who plays Zazu in The Lion King and there's a special section on him and how he got his start.

What's cool is, Mike (yeah, first name basis now...LOL) happens to be in my town week with The Lion King!I hope to meet up with him before they leave. (I know his mom ;)

Let me know if there's a specific library you'd like me to send a flyer to.
